1893: First Lady Frances Cleveland had a baby

Here is a little baby history and The White House:

On this day in 1893, President Grover Cleveland’s wife Frances becomes the first first lady to give birth in the White House when the couple’s daughter Esther is born. She remains the only child of a president to be born in the White House.

The little girl became an instant celebrity.

The Clevelands had another daughter, Ruth.   She was born between his two presidential terms.    We remember that Mr Cleveland was elected in 1884, defeated in 1888 and reelected in 1892.     He is the only man elected, defeated and elected again.
